In our PSHE lesson, we read poems about bullying then had a go at writing
some of our own. We tried to communicate the feelings associated with bullying.

Black History Month
This week we have been celebrating the lives of black people though history. To tie in with our learning about WWI, we wrote biographies of Walter Tull, one of the first black, professional footballers, who enlisted in the war.

Dear Albert...
We have been reading War Horse by Michael Morpurgo and learning about life during World War I. We wrote letters to Albert from Joey, to explain his experiences of war.

Read all about it!
We have been using our knowledge about the Pompeii disaster to write newspaper reports. We have had to be objective and write in a serious, formal style. We used reported speech and powerful vocabulary to add drama to the story and engage our readers.
